What is Team Planning?
It is not about "what business should we be in?" Nor about "what will our industry look like in 10 years' time?" That's strategic planning.
The quality approach to planning involves a short, structured, and intensive planning workshop, undertaken by the entire management team, guided by an experienced and objective planning consultant.
Its purpose is to develop a plan that covers the important topics for the particular organisation through a short consultancy engagement. The planning focuses on the remit of the organisation, the major objectives, the factors that are critical to achieving the goal and objectives, and the business processes in which quality improvements will yield the greatest immediate business benefits.
The output from the work is a plan that the management team are committed to and which they have the confidence and ability to carry out. The plan will address those topics that are the most important to the business, now.
