Ian McCalla

Ian originally graduated in electronics engineering, and in his early career sought to exploit the opportunities presented by the emerging microcomputer and software industries. Over 25 years he started, built and sold five hi-tech companies, two to US listed corporations. In 2003 he retrained and qualified as a business performance coach and has been enjoying this rewarding and stimulating new career ever since.
As an entrepreneur and business leader in the IT, software and telecoms industries, Ian learnt much about corporate leadership. Perhaps the most unambiguous of lessons was that any serious investment made in senior managers and staff will be repaid many times over when growing and developing a business. It is for this reason he has, over the last 9 years, focused his energies on helping businesses grow by developing the strengths and capabilities of their leaders and managers. He has coached executives in some of the largest companies in the UK including BT, Markit Group, Honda, the Port of London Authority and Bonhams Auctioneers.
Ian understands that everyone has hidden strengths and abilities, and many executives have undiscovered or undeveloped leadership skills. He sees his chief role as helping these executives unlock those invaluable resources, resolve work / life conflicts and achieve greater success in their business (and sometimes personal) lives.
